Times Square Spotify Billboard: Gryffin & OneRepublic for “New Music Friday”
My photo of Gryffin and and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder was featured on Spotify’s billboard in Times Square for “New Music Friday” featuring their collaboration on “You Were Loved.” This touching single features vocals by OneRepublic’s lead singer, Ryan Tedder. The track begins with tenderhearted guitar picks coupled with emotive vocals then ascends into a harmonious blend of pure feel-good electronic melodies. Gryffin’s signature hybrid of organic and electric sounds can clearly be heard while Tedder’s lyrics tell an emotional story of losing touch with the one you loved and hoping to cross paths with them again. Gryffin’s beautiful electronic sounds accompanied with Tedder’s passionate lyrics exhibit that this collaboration is a perfect match with both artists complimenting each other’s styles. This heartfelt track will have you feeling both nostalgic and hopeful for the one you loved. “You Were Loved” is an absolute masterpiece collaboration.

Two Earth Days and tens of millions of rides later, the impact that micromobility is having on carbon reduction and the environment is clearly coming into focus.
In city after city, survey after survey, Lime riders are reporting a significant shift away from automobiles for short-distance urban transportation.
Portland and St. Louis provide two clear examples of this phenomenon in the US. After its 4-month pilot in 2018, 34% of Portland riders reported using electric scooters to replace a trip by car on their most recent outing. That number increases to more than 38% in St. Louis, where Lime riders have prevented an estimated 96 metric tons of carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere…

How can micromobility shape the future of public transit?
That was one of the questions behind UC San Diego’s recent Design Lab Designathon project. Sponsored by Lime and in partnership with SANDAG, Campus Planning and USP/Young Planners, participating students and community members were challenged to develop a new vision for the upcoming Pepper Canyon Trolley Station.
The goal was to envision the future on-campus station, part of San Diego’s Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project, as a dynamic, multimodal mobility hub.
Attendees were also treated to a tour of UCSD’s 2,000 acre campus on Lime electric scooters…

Advancing sustainable mobility takes planning. Yet, like many cities across the world, Santa Monica was forced to react to a new disruptive mobility model—privately owned dockless shared e-scooters and e-bikes.

“Blurred Culture: JAH9 UNITES GENERATIONS OF REGGAE AT TWILIGHT CONCERTS” (7/13/2017)
Janine “Jah9” Cunningham, a Jamaica-native and a staple name in the new generation of reggae, continued the lineup for this year’s Twilight Concert Series on the Santa Monica Pier on July 13, 2017, prepping the audience for headliner Marcia Griffiths. This week brought droves of old-school reggae veterans of the Marley-era as well a younger, more contemporary and progressive crowd; Jah9 succeeded in uniting the two under her melodic creation.
Jah9 proved herself to be more than a singer, more than a performer; she is a palpable force whose moving presence commanded the armies of attendees on the pier and sand alike. What she sung, so did the audience; how she moved, so too they. Her stage presence was nothing but entrancing, an exotic array of dynamic gestures, ranging from liquid sways to percussive punches that truly complemented her pack-a-punch lyrics…
“Blurred Culture: MARCIA GRIFFITHS TOOK THE THRONE AT TWILIGHT CONCERTS” (7/13/2017)
On July 13, 2017, the “Queen of reggae” Marcia Griffiths took the Santa Monica Pier with some old time chimes that brought an equally vintage audience.
An anxious commotion from the crowd paired with a sort of informal yet simultaneously royal pageant on stage welcomed the Queen of reggae to her kingdom of the next hour and a half. The whole audience seemed to rise a couple inches, each individual tip-toeing over each other vying to catch the first glimpses of that iconic voice that’s kept them rewinding their cassette tapes all these years. An unmistakably herbal aroma was accompanied by a symphonic display of scattered marijuana puffs seemingly orchestrated to the tempo of the beat. All eyes were fixed on Marcia Griffiths… well, as best as they could manage.
If Bob Marley were the genre’s Michael Jackson, Griffiths’ fame would easily match that of Madonna. A brilliant spotlight shone down on her already glowing appearance…
